A Rare Result in a High-Stakes Audit: Zero CARs

Form Projects recently achieved a truly rare feat: zero corrective actions in an OFSC audit. This assessment is one of the industry's most stringent, and the outcome stands as a testament to the company’s safety culture and Simpel’s role in embedding compliance into everyday operations. The result classified Form as a low-risk contractor, reducing the frequency of future audits.

In all my time in the industry, I’ve never seen an OFSC audit come back with zero CARs (Corrective Action Reports). Having all the documentation available at our fingertips made a huge difference and the auditor couldn’t find fault with our systems or procedures. The team clearly implemented the system well. It was an outstanding outcome—for both the business and the platform.”

This didn’t happen by accident. It arose from clear processes, committed people, and software that empowers both.
Here’s how they got there...

Before Simpel: Starting from Scratch

Form Projects was founded five years ago with a strong delivery mindset from the outset. Like many young businesses, they initially relied on hard copy paperwork—managing safety, quality and general project operations manually across their sites. Despite having a robust QSE system in place that received both ISO and OFSC accreditations within its first three years of trading, due to the volume of paperwork the team recognised that to support sustained growth and meet the demands of more complex projects, they needed a digital solution that could scale with them.

"We were using hard copy paper forms and folders that weren’t able to be stored centrally.  Our team were all used to managing workflow with the use of software before, so as soon as the budget allowed, we were ready to make the switch.”

Partnering with Simpel: Choosing One Platform for All Operations

Form approached their move to digital systems thoughtfully. With their prior experience using point solutions, the team had a clear sense of what each product could offer and saw the value in bringing their operations together under a single platform.

“We looked at, and had previously used, products which covered safety but not document or correspondence management, or vice versa but not something that ticked all the boxes. But then we had people say, ‘Oh, you should look into Simpel.’ When we did, what stood out was that it replaced the need for multiple systems.”

This end-to-end capability became even more valuable on government projects, where Form needed to meet client, ISO, and OFSC accreditation requirements

“Our clients want a system that logs RFIs, tracks variations and manages documents. We also need quality, safety, and environment systems to maintain accreditation. So having a system that does all of those things in one spot was a win-win solution for us.”

From Paper to Platform: Fast Implementation and Repeatable Rollouts

With Simpel’s support, Form set up a project configuration that reflects how their teams work—customising categories, workflows and forms to suit their processes. That setup is now applied across every project, helping the team start with the right structure from day one.

“We’ve got a project template that keeps everything consistent. We either duplicate the template ourselves or shoot a quick request to the Simpel team. Then we just upload a site-specific induction and it’s ready to go.”

Adoption across the team was quick. Thanks to Simpel’s intuitive interface and a tech-savvy workforce, the shift to digital tools happened with minimal friction.

“We have a lot of Millennials in our workforce, so taking up technology was easy for them. Once we had the platform how we wanted it, the implementation was pretty straightforward.”

MODULES IN USE: THE END-TO-END SOLUTION

What began with digital forms has evolved into a fully integrated system—empowering Form’s teams to manage risk, maintain compliance, and deliver with precision.

Project Essentials

Used to manage drawings, RFIs, document control, and change workflows. With thousands of documents, RFIs and emails already processed, Essentials keeps teams aligned, subcontractors informed, and records ready for audit.

Safety Management

This pack supports Form’s commitment to compliant, accountable site operations. From SWMS and incident reports to site diaries, plant registers and permits, every entry is digital, trackable and auditable. With high submission volumes across every project, it’s become central to how safety is managed.

Site access

Thousands of site entries have been logged using Simpel’s QR Poster sign-on system, each tied to a daily declaration. It’s fast, hardware-free, and provides real-time visibility over who’s onsite and whether they’re cleared to work.

Quality management

The Quality pack drives consistency across inspections, defect tracking and QA documentation. Using QTrack, Form’s teams have logged detailed inspections, assigned actions and closed hundreds of tasks—resolving quality issues early and reducing rework at handover.

Together, these packs support the scale and structure Form needs, digitising critical processes, improving accountability, and enabling teams to move with confidence.

More than compliance: visibility, accountability and continuous improvement

At Form, compliance isn’t a checkbox, it’s a core part of company culture. It’s driven by accountability, transparency, and a commitment to continuous improvement. With Simpel as the central platform, every task is tracked, logged, and visible in one place.

“We’re not about tick-and-flick. Our senior management team visits every site on a monthly basis. They check the task logs, and make sure the team is identifying issues and closing them out.”

These reviews are more than audits. They’re embedded into project KPIs and used to monitor and improve real-world outcomes.

“Simpel provides a significant amount of data on our projects, so we can track trends and identify if there are areas, we can improve in. That’s how we build better processes and deliver better service.”

That visibility is paying off. Across all projects, approximately 93% of assigned tasks have been completed, driven by clear expectations, accountability, and the transparency Simpel provides.

An Enterprise Partnership Grounded in Outcomes

What began as a shift away from paperwork has become a long-term operational partnership. Today, Simpel is deeply embedded across Form’s projects, supporting consistent delivery, robust governance, and accreditation compliance at every level.

Construction runs on documents, decisions and on-site execution. SIMPEL delivers all three, with its hardware as ground truth and a network that compounds with every project our clients deliver. Bolt AI runs in the background, keeping delivery focused on execution, not managing another layer of technology.

From design, delivery, and handover, SIMPEL brings construction operations into one connected system to turn information into action. By connecting teams onsite and in the office, it captures mission critical workflows and the rich data needed to power AI that distils meaningful intelligence.
