Position Overview

We are growing rapidly, scaling up our services and building our Australian team - come join us as a Senior Devops Engineer!

As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Simpel, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing, automating, and optimising our Azure-based platform and product lifecycle.

You’ll work closely with engineering, product and platform teams to embed a quality mindset with secure-by-design principles, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and ensure our infrastructure is resilient, scalable, and cloud-native. This role will help shape the future of our architecture as we modernise our technology, driving both the uplift of our technical foundations and the implementation of world-class DevSecOps practices.

With deep expertise in Microsoft technologies (Azure, .NET), you’ll be instrumental in delivering a secure, high-velocity SaaS platform tailored to the needs of the construction industry.

About the Role 

• Design, build and maintain the tools, infrastructure and systems that support our product engineering lifecycle and operations.
• Align platform architecture and technical design with DevSecOps best practices.
• Build and optimise high-performance, security-hardened CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps with a focus on fast feedback and shift-left principles.
• Architect, develop and maintain secure, scalable Azure-based IAC using Bicep.
• Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive observability strategy, ensuring end-to-end visibility across systems through effective monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Champion SRE practices including incident management, post-mortems, SLAs/SLOs, error budgets and system reliability.
• Mentor and support our teams in adopting a quality mindset with secure and efficient engineering practices.

About you

• You are a highly collaborative engineer with 10+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Platform Engineering roles with a deep expertise across the Microsoft stack.
• You bring strong architectural thinking, with experience designing and evolving secure, scalable, and modular applications aligned to modern DevSecOps principles.
• You thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environments and lead from the front with a bias for action.
• You evangelise an agile, shift-left quality mindset with security-first DevOps practices across engineering teams.
• You are very passionate about developer experience and continuously improving engineering effectiveness and velocity.
• You value continuous learning, feedback, and engineering excellence.
