And just like that, we’re past half-way. It’s been fast, productive, crazy at times, but we delivered. You only have to look at our project, onboarding and usage metrics below to see that all the hard work and hustle has paid off. It’s been a very busy and a very successful term for the whole team.
Here are the highlights:
- New Offline Inspections & Defecting app
- New QTrack module
- New Software User Interface
- New Proprietary Site Access Hardware
- Reached massive Client Milestones
- Key Industry Events and Sponsorships
- Vivid Lights by Superyacht
We’ve given our users one more reason to leave the paper plans in the office. After months of research and development, we launched the QTrack app. An offline capable app for tablets and mobiles.
Whether in the basement or a remote location, poor internet connectivity is no longer a cause for frustration when performing quality inspections and tasking.
With the new app, users can create and group tasks in a single workflow, and link them to a digital drawing. We called this, ‘Location-linked tasking’ and it is unique to Simpel.
Our commitment to continuous improvement: New QTrack module and functionality enhancements
One of Simpel’s core company values is - Don’t over-promise on features or functionality. It damages relationships and good will and is a bad habit within the construction software industry.
But we do listen to our clients and deliver feature requests that benefit the wider industry. This year, our development team delivered a range of cutting-edge software updates that delighted our clients and helped them optimise project management of their construction operations.
From client-initiated feature requests - like our real-time Pre-Start Editor in the Daily Declarations module; to the development of brand-new modules like QTrack for Quality Inspections and Defects management, and Pre-Qualification for stringent worker screening prior to induction and admission to high security projects.
Every one of our software releases enhanced usability, streamlined operations or added another layer of protection around our users’ data and project security.
A facelift that turned heads
We unveiled our NEW software interface
Yes, first impressions matter, but delivering an effortless user experience is paramount for the thousands of people who use and depend on Simpel every day. After months of design and development, our old graphic interface underwent a stunning transformation.
Marrying aesthetics with usability; we added the ability to personalise and save table layouts, including new filtering and sort functions that are easier to view, and help streamline day-to-day management of large quantities of project data.
The result was a fresh look and intuitive experience that expanded flexibility whilst retaining all the functionality that our clients had come to rely on and appreciate.
Client Success: Massive mid-year milestones
Our CS team delivered some staggering figures for the last six months. The cornerstone of their efforts has been the onboarding of new projects worth over $1.3 billion with Simpel.
Each project represents a unique set of requirements, and our team delivers tailored solutions that set the foundation for long-lasting partnership with our clients. This begins with training. After onboarding our new clients and setting them up with Simpel, our team went on to deliver an additional 205 training hours during this period.
It’s critically important that we train the right people effectively because every project introduces new users to the system. This is evident for the last six-month period where we added 37,418 new users across REITs, developers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
Some special client mentions...
We hear lots of success stories from our clients. Some stories describe completely transformational experiences with implementation of modules that span all project operations, while others focus on specific areas of the business such as the roll out of our safety modules which save HSEQ teams time and effort. Regardless of the scale of the impact, we love seeing the value Simpel delivers and hearing the stories is always immensely satisfying - so here’s some that we’ve heard recently…
- Logos Group continued enterprise roll out on another four new logistic projects.
- Advanced Constructions had a positive outcome on their audit by the NSW Building Commissioner, which was attributed to our worker induction process and integrated site access gates. This has since lead to increased project opportunities.
- CDI Group's smooth transition from Procore to Simpel is testament to our implementation of successful change management processes and a seamless onboarding experience, both online and in person
- Nazero started with our Simpel Essentials module and recently expanded their functionality to include more HSE modules, such as inductions, site access, plant inductions, SWMS and safety plans. Their adoption of more modules reflects the scalability of our solutions and is a great example of why we encourage people to start with just the core modules and scale up as their business needs evolve.
Events and Sponsorships: Connecting with the construction community
In the last six months, we attended three industry events across NSW, VIC and WA. These gatherings provided invaluable opportunities to connect with construction professionals, hear their stories, understand their needs, and lay the foundation for future partnerships.
Sydney Build, NSW
Sydney Build is always live and loud, teeming with people and with a great vibe.
This year we went even bigger, with a larger stand, a full height turnstile and a half-height turnstile on display.
We also introduced our larger-than-life touchscreen display that made demos of Simpel’s construction management software easy to follow.
National UDIA Congress, WA
As strong supporters of peak industry bodies that represent property and construction sectors we agreed to be Silver Sponsors of the National UDIA Congress.
Future of Construction, VIC
The two-day, Future of Construction conference was held in Melbourne with the theme of "Construction Disrupted" - a fantastic event attended by over 700 industry representatives.
Looking Ahead: Embracing the Future of Construction
It’s only through continuous improvement of our client’s experience using Simpel’s software and hardware, that we can remain at the forefront of innovation in construction management software.
With innovation in mind, our focus is on leveraging the unique single data set that Simpel's system provides. This functionality will be delivered soon and we know our clients will love it when they see how they can use it to make more effective data-driven decisions that will help deliver projects faster.
Stay tuned!
